Access Monitoring Standard Operating Procedure
A short SOP for routine route, checkpoint and site-accessibility reporting that stays within humanitarian access reporting.
Scope
- Covers route accessibility, road conditions, access constraints and programme-site reachability.
- Does not cover armed-security recommendations, tactical advice or threat assessment.
Routine cycle
- Daily: route logs and team check-ins.
- Weekly: programme access status per district.
- Monthly: consolidated access constraint review with programme managers.
Recording standards
- Every entry carries location, date, source and confidence.
- Direct observation is labelled separately from reported information.
- Unknown is a valid and preferred status where evidence is absent.
Use of the information
- Informs programme planning, sequencing and logistics.
- Security decisions are referred to your security provider or focal point.
